How to Clean a Sandwich Maker Really Fast

How to clean a sandwich maker allows us to prepare a good breakfast, quickly and without any stress. That is what the commercial tells us. But what about the cleaning afterwards?

Cheese, eggs and sausages stick to the appliance and make the cleaning difficult.

Here is the easiest way to get a dirty, sticky sandwich maker back to sparkling!

What materials are necessary for the cleaning?

  • Paper towels
  • Few cloths and a sponge
  • Dish detergent
  • Warm water

It is super important to wait until the sandwich maker cools down to avoid any burns on your skin. Make sure that the power plug is disconnected!

First wipe away any bread crumbs with a dry cloth or kitchen towel, then remove excess oil from the plates with a piece of kitchen paper before you clean them.

With a small amount of warm, soapy water, firmly scrub the surface with a sponge, paying special attention to the grooves, where oil gets trapped.

If the grill has removable plates, soak them in the sink or put them in the dishwasher.

How to Clean a Sandwich Maker Without Contaminating The Device

I think we all agree that a good sandwich has to have a nice amount of cheese in it. I have a simple solution how not to contaminate the device:

The secret is to prevent the sandwich ingredients from touching the actual sandwich maker plates. For this I simply use two pieces of baking paper! Simply put one piece under your sandwich and one on top and press away.  You can get away with only using one piece under the sandwich but I use one on top as well to keep the top plate clean.
